How to calculate filament cost

Print cost = grams used ÷ net spool weight × price per spool. Include supports, purge and waste in grams used. Spool cost = quantity × price per spool.

For example, 50 g from a 1,000 g spool bought for $20 costs $1 in filament. Its cost per gram is $20 ÷ 1,000 g = $0.02/g. Add separate rows for each material in a multicolor or mixed-material print.

Use the price you actually paid. For a multipack, enter its total filament weight and total package price, and count packages in Spool cost. Filament weight excludes the empty spool. Electricity, shipping, tax and printer wear are excluded unless you add them to your price.
